Quick Snack Fix at the Famous Kati Roll Company in Greenwich Village

Cheaper Eat, Better than McDonalds!

So I learnt about this place for the first time from a close Indian friend of mine from Syracuse. He moved to New York to start a job in a digital agency in Brooklyn, a job that many people would kill to have. He is one of the coolest people I have met. We went out for hookah one night and we stopped at this kati roll hot spot off Bleecker. He was telling me how awesome this thing is but I was too full. Today was finally the right time for it.

Kati Roll Factory, I was told by my Indian friends in NYC that the kati rolls you get here are pretty authentic. There is a similar place next to it but that place is always empty whenever I walked pass it while Kati Roll Factory is pretty much packed all the time.

The interior of Kati Roll Factory. They are all old Hindi movie playbills.

Kati Roll Factory menu. They also have vegetarian choices with potatoes and paneer. We opted for Achari Paneer Roll and Unda Chicken Roll. Also if you are a student, you also get 10% discount. How cool is that!

Unda Chicken Roll ($6). I love the spice, it’s not too spicy, it’s just right. However, I think the chicken was a bit too much (Maybe I was not too hungry). The roti was a bit crispy – cooked perfectly. The secret weapon here is the red onion, but of course, that would leave a really strong smell in your mouth.

Achari Paneer Roll ($6)

Final verdict: Awesome place, I actually would not mind to come like once a week or something (minus the fact that this thing will make my cholesterol goes off the roof). It is a great stop to snack after drinking or just a quick fix when you are hungry. Be patient though, the line can be quite long!
